The Digital Research and Development Group (ID2) is formed by professors and researchers of the Electronic Technology Department (DTE) at the University of Seville (Spain). The group is registered with the Andalusian Region Knowledge System under code TIC-204 in the areas of Information and Communication Technologies and Industrial Design. The leader of the group is Dr. Jorge Juan.
ID2 was born in 2007 when a group of researchers formerly with group TIC-180 decide to create a new research group focused on the research and development of digital electronic systems, embedded systems and computer engineering. Since its creation, the group have obtained financial support from a variety of fundamental and applied research projects from the national governments through the National Research Plan (Plan Nacional de Investigación), the regional government and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The members of ID2 also participate actively in all the levels of higher education, including the Bachelor Degree in Computer Engineering, the Masters in Computers and Networks Engineering and the Doctorate Program of the DTE.
One of the main objectives of the group is the contribution to the industrial and technological development through cooperation with companies and start-ups in the regional, national and international spheres. The members of the group form an interdisciplinary team with more than 15 year of experience in its field, with demonstrated results in the following areas:
